Melanie Kourbage is a Public Health Informatics Specialist with over twenty years of experience in project management and informatics. Currently, as Lead Specialist in Informatics at the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL), Melanie oversees key public health initiatives. Previously, they served as Director of Business Development at J Michael Consulting, where they managed projects related to COVID-19 and various national informatics initiatives. Melanie also has extensive academic experience, having taught at UMass Amherst and developed undergraduate curricula in history. They hold a Bachelor of Arts in History from The College of William and Mary, a Master of Arts from Fordham University, and completed doctoral coursework at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
