Sheila Poole

Sheila Poole has extensive experience in the field of public human services. Sheila started their career with the NYS Office of Children and Family Services in 2012, serving as the Executive Deputy Commissioner until 2014. Sheila then took on the role of Acting Commissioner/Executive Deputy Commissioner until 2019. In 2019, they became the Commissioner of the NYS Office of Children and Family Services. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President, External Relations at the American Public Human Services Association since 2023.

Sheila Poole obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Psychology from Siena College, although the end year is unknown. Following this, they pursued a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Psychology from Russell Sage College, completing it from 1986 to 1990.
