Margo Lyons

Margo Lyons has been working in the insurance industry since 2015. Margo began their career as an Underwriting Assistant at Cansure, where they were mentored by one of the company's executives, learning the fundamentals of underwriting and insurance. Margo was then promoted to Commercial Lines Intermediate Underwriter, working on large, complex risks and learning about the underwriting principles beyond the rating guides and tables.

In 2018, they moved to Apollo Insurance as Vice President of Broker Distribution, using their knowledge to enable brokers to transact insurance online. In 2019, they founded and chaired the Young Insurance Professionals of British Columbia (YIPBC), a network of professionals to foster and support the new, digitally enabled generation in the insurance industry.

Margo Lyons obtained their Bachelor of Business Administration - BBA from the British Columbia Institute of Technology between 2012 and 2015, majoring in Business Administration and International Business Management. Margo also attended the University of Victoria between 2012 and 2013, studying Business/Commerce, General. In 2015, they completed their Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) from the Insurance Institute of Canada. Margo is also a Licensed Insurance Broker from the Insurance Council of BC.
