Susan Hackner has served as the Chief Medical Officer and Chief Operating Officer at Cornell University Veterinary Specialists since July 2010. Prior to this role, Susan held the position of Chair in the Department of Critical Care & Emergency Medicine at The Animal Medical Center from 2007 to 2009. Susan also founded Veterinary Specialty Consulting, where leadership spanned from 2004 to 2007, and led the Critical Care & Internal Medicine Department at Veterinary Referral Associates from 1994 to 2004. Educationally, Susan completed a Fellowship in Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine between 1991 and 1992, following a degree in Veterinary Science (BVSc) from the University of Pretoria.
