Peter A. Gish is an experienced entrepreneur and executive in the energy sector. Peter A. started their career in 1993 as Assistant General Counsel at Clean Harbors Environmental Services Inc. In 1997, they became Managing Director and Corporate and Project Counsel at UPC International Partnership CV II. In 2001, they co-founded First Wind (formerly UPC Wind Partners) and served on the Board of Directors until its sale to SunEdison in 2015 for USD 2.4 billion. In 2007, they co-founded UPC Renewables and UPC North Africa Renewables and served as Managing Director of the latter. Peter A. spearheaded the development of the 120 MW Khalladi Wind Power Project in Morocco which was financed by EBRD in 2016. In 2010, they were appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of Apparent, Inc., a California based solar energy company with several patents for an innovative power extraction technology. In 2017, they founded First Summit Energy and Ukraine Power Resources, designing systems and platforms for renewable energy and sustainable development projects. Peter A. developed two large-scale wind projects in record time with financing from private investors and international financial institutions. In 2019, they became Co-Founder, Co-CEO & Partner at Ortus Climate Mitigation, creating climate mitigation silos in key markets and deploying cutting edge technologies to facilitate the transition to a clean energy economy.
Peter A. Gish completed a Bachelor's Degree in Comparative Religion and Fine Art from Dartmouth College between 1980 and 1984. Peter A. then went on to pursue a Master of Arts in Jurisprudence from the University of Oxford between 1986 and 1988. Finally, they obtained a Doctor of Law from Boston College Law School between 1990 and 1992.
