Mary Johnson

Mary Johnson is a Senior Linguist at Appen since February 2020, where collaboration with clients focuses on providing linguistic training data for machine translation, ASR, and TTS models. Prior experience includes independent contracting in linguistic project management from August 2017 to February 2020, and teaching positions at Denison University and Otterbein University as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Intermediate Spanish. Additional teaching roles include a Lecturer position at The Ohio State University and an Assistant Professor at Occidental College, where advanced linguistics and Spanish language courses were developed and taught. Mary Johnson holds a Ph.D. in Hispanic Linguistics from The Ohio State University, as well as a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in the same field and Spanish and Italian language studies, respectively.
