Maya Baylen has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Maya started their career in 2005 as a Box Office Manager at La Jolla Playhouse, where they managed customer service and worked with marketing teams. From 2009 to 2011, Maya worked as a Receptionist at The Joyce Theater Foundation, handling office management and documenting foundation activities.
In 2011, Maya transitioned to the role of Sales Operations Manager at Sleep No More, collaborating with different departments to integrate sales data and create a comprehensive database. Maya also managed project sales and ticketing operations for special events. Additionally, Maya worked as a Reservations Manager at Sleep No More, where they designed and maintained online products and managed staff to serve high-profile clientele.
Maya gained research experience as a Research Assistant at Brooklyn College, where they worked on a study on goal orientation and learning. Maya also worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, assisting various projects that utilized behavioral science insights.
In 2017, Maya joined the University of Chicago as a Research Assistant in the Learning Lab, conducting a study on conversations with parents and children for cognitive skill development. Maya also worked as a UX Research Coordinator at Nanit, managing the beta testing program for Breathing Motion Monitoring.
