Aleksei Petrenko

Aleksei Petrenko is currently a Senior Research Scientist at Apple, specializing in deep reinforcement learning, robotics, and systems within the Special Projects Group. Aleksei holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Southern California, where they focused on optimization in deep reinforcement learning and robotics. Prior to Apple, Aleksei worked as a Robotics Research Intern at NVIDIA and as a PhD Research Intern at Intel Labs, contributing to advancements in model-free reinforcement learning and developing high-throughput simulation platforms. They also held roles as a Technical Lead and Senior Software Engineer, gaining extensive experience in machine learning, computer vision, and real-time systems across varied technologies and frameworks.
