Andrew Shorten

Andrew Shorten, PhD, has extensive experience in hardware development and engineering, primarily within Apple from September 2019 to October 2023 as a Senior Hardware Development Engineer, focusing on TouchID research and development. Key responsibilities included managing the technology roadmap for TouchID, leading architecture definition for new sensors, and supporting module implementation teams. Prior roles at Apple included Hardware Engineering Manager and Mixed Signal IC Design Engineer at Kapik Integration. Andrew also served as a test analyst at Bell Canada and has academic experience as a teaching assistant at the University of Toronto. Andrew holds a PhD, MASc, and BASc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto.
