Berk Basarer

Berk Basarer is an experienced software engineer currently working in the Vision Products Group at Apple since June 2022. Prior experience includes serving as a Core Extended Reality Programmer at the University of Miami, where Berk developed the first surgical oncology Augmented Reality platform for tumor margin detection, achieving sub-2-mm accuracy and pursuing FDA approval. Berk also held positions as a User Assistant and Web Developer at UM Information Technology, managing computer lab operations and creating responsive web applications. Earlier involvement in the Inanc Mechatronics Club as Head of Electronics Division led to participation in national and international robotics competitions, resulting in 10 awards over four years. Berk holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Miami and graduated high school with an International Baccalaureate diploma.
