David Cole is a seasoned professional with over three decades of experience in digital imaging and stereoscopic research and development. Currently serving as the Director of the Immersive Media Team at Apple since 2020, they have co-authored twenty-three granted patents and hold over forty pending patents in virtual reality technology. Prior to Apple, David co-founded and led NextVR, the largest VR content platform, from 2009 to 2020. They also founded Studiotronics, which was acquired by Chinon Industries, where David contributed to the development of groundbreaking VR products. Their innovative work includes the creation of CyberShades, the first consumer stereoscopic 3D shutter glasses, and Cyberfin, a unique VR experience simulating an underwater swim with dolphins.
