David Degazio is a compiler engineer on the JavaScriptCore team at Apple, focusing on WebAssembly virtual machine compilation since 2022. Prior to that, they contributed to the OpenJDK with the Twitter VM Team and worked as an instructional aide at the University of Michigan College of Engineering. David graduated with a B.S.E. in Computer Science from the University of Michigan in May 2021, where they taught C++ for six semesters and served as president of the local game development organization, WolverineSoft. Additionally, David is the creator of the programming language Basil, which won the 2020 Repl.it Language Jam, and continues to explore new language features and optimizations through personal projects.
