David Hwang is an experienced research scientist with a background in advanced materials processing and display technology. Between August 2018 and December 2019, David served as a Research Scientist at Facebook. Prior to this role, David gained experience at the University of Florida as a Research Assistant in the Software & Analysis of Advanced Materials Processing Center from August 2012 to May 2013, and at UC Berkeley as a Research Assistant in the COINS REU program during the summer of 2012. David also worked as a Display Engineering Intern at Apple in the summer of 2017 and later took on the role of Senior Device Scientist at VueReal Inc. from February 2020 to October 2022. David earned a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Florida (2008-2013) and a PhD from the University of California, Santa Barbara (2013-2018).
