David Pope currently leads the Image Signal Processor (ISP) architecture team at Apple as an Imaging Architect and Senior Manager. An experienced senior manager and research scientist, David has a strong background in digital imaging and ophthalmic optics, with expertise in image processing, digital cameras, and algorithm development. David earned a PhD from the University of California, Berkeley, where they researched the effects of motion on signal detection, and subsequently conducted postdoctoral studies on stereoscopic vision. Prior to Apple, David held various leadership roles in R&D and research at companies such as Aptina Imaging and Foxlink, and served as a Research Scientist and Manager at Sola Optical.
