David Q. Sun

David Q. Sun is an experienced engineering manager at Apple since February 2018, currently focusing on hiring for NLP, machine learning, data science, and engineering roles in Seattle. Previously, David served as a staff machine learning engineer and data scientist, applying machine learning to enhance Siri's capabilities. David has also contributed as a volunteer instructor for AI4ALL, an honorary fellow at GGV Capital, and a data scientist at Protagonist Technology, where algorithms leveraging NLP and game theory were developed for notable clients. In 2015, David participated in the Insight Asia-Pacific Program with McKinsey & Company and conducted research at the German National Research Center for Artificial Intelligence in 2011. David holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Systems Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Jacobs University Bremen.
