Erik Marchi is a Machine Learning Research Manager at Apple, specializing in acoustic modeling for the Siri Speech team. They earned an M.Sc. degree (cum laude) in electronic engineering from Università Politecnica delle Marche in 2011, and have also pursued a PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Technical University of Munich. Prior to their current role, Erik held positions as a Senior Machine Learning Researcher and Lead Software Engineer, and contributed to EU-FP7 projects focused on assistive technologies for children with autism. With over 50 publications in peer-reviewed journals and conferences, Erik is actively involved in the IEEE/ACM community.
