Jeff Tian is a seasoned mechatronics scientist with expertise in actuator and motor designs, fluid dynamic bearings, and advanced thermal solutions. Currently serving as a Senior Scientist at Apple, Jeff has previously held technical leadership roles at Western Digital and other notable companies, managing teams and driving innovation in HDD mechatronics and actuator development. With a strong academic foundation, including PhDs in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from Tsinghua University and UBC, Jeff has published over 15 papers and holds more than 50 patents. Their work encompasses an extensive range of disciplines, from rotor dynamics to multi-physics modeling and embedded systems development.
