Jim Yurko is a Senior Distinguished Engineer (Sr. Director) in Materials Engineering at Apple, where they have been contributing since 2021. Prior to this role, Jim co-founded and served as President of Boston Metal from 2012 to 2015 and was a Co-Founder and Chief Engineer at ERC LLC from 2007 to 2011. Jim's earlier experience includes project management and metallurgical roles at BuhlerPrince from 2002 to 2007, and leadership positions at Materion Corporation between 2014 and 2015. Jim earned a PhD in Metallurgy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.S.E. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan.
