Joao Monteiro is an experienced research scientist with a background in artificial intelligence and machine learning. Currently employed at Apple as a Research Scientist since August 2025, Joao previously held the position of AI Research Scientist at Autodesk from September 2024 to July 2025 and at ServiceNow Research from December 2021 to September 2024. Earlier roles included ML Research Intern at Borealis AI in 2021, Student Researcher at Google from September 2020 to April 2021, and Research Intern at Huawei in 2019. Joao's engineering expertise was cultivated at Gerdau from March 2010 to March 2014 as a Process Engineer, and as a Manufacturing Analyst at FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles from April 2014 to November 2016.
