Karol Sobczak

Karol Sobczak is an experienced data and performance engineering professional with a solid background in the tech industry. Currently, Karol is involved with Apple in a data and performance engineering role, and also serves as a maintainer for the Trino Software Foundation. Previously, Karol was a founding engineer at Starburst, focusing on performance engineering, and held the position of Senior PrestoDB & Big Data developer at Teradata, contributing to various aspects of Presto database enhancements. Karol's career also includes roles at Hadapt, 7Bulls, and research positions at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and IBM Research. Academically, Karol holds Master’s degrees in Computer Science from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Warsaw.
