Kunal Chawla

Kunal Chawla is an experienced professional in the field of machine learning and artificial intelligence, currently serving as a Senior ML Applied Scientist at Apple since June 2025. Prior to this role, Kunal worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at Meta, leading evaluations for multi-modal LLMs, and as an Applied Scientist II at Microsoft, where improvements in question answering contributed to a significant F1 score increase. Kunal has also held positions at Amazon, IBM, and Samsung Electronics, where contributions included advancements in video retrieval, mobility aid detection, image retrieval methods, and several patented technologies.
