Lawrence C.

Lawrence C. is an experienced engineering manager and machine learning expert with a strong background in the energy and battery sectors. At Apple, from October 2017 to June 2022, Lawrence led a machine learning team focused on the full spectrum of ML work, ranging from conceptualization to productionization. Prior to Apple, Lawrence served as a machine learning scientist at Versive, specializing in anomaly detection for computer security, and worked as an applied researcher at Microsoft, developing machine learning models for click prediction and relevance estimation. Lawrence's early career included research at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems, where novel nearest neighbor search methods were developed. Lawrence holds a PhD in Computer Science from UC San Diego and a BS in Mathematics and Computer Science from Washington University in St. Louis.
