Matthew Jockers

Matthew Jockers is a Senior Research Manager at Apple, overseeing AIML research teams focused on recommendations and personalization for Apple Books, Podcasts, App Store, and Video/TV. Previously, they served as a professor and dean at Washington State University, and they co-founded several organizations, including a nonprofit cultural organization and two technology companies in the book industry. Matthew's academic background includes a PhD from Southern Illinois University and various roles at institutions such as Stanford University and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. They are also a certified fly casting instructor.
