Matthew Last

Matthew Last is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in product development and technology leadership. Matthew's career began as a Graduate Student Researcher at UC Berkeley (1998-2005) and transitioned into roles such as a MEMS Engineer at DiCon Fiberoptics and a co-owner at California Competition Team Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Academy. Matthew later served as a senior engineer at multiple companies, including Apple, where responsibilities included advancing sensor technologies and motion sensing for various products. As a Technology Lead at Waymo, Matthew led the development of the first-generation thermal camera module. Currently, Matthew is the Director of Product at Aeva, Inc. and has returned to Apple as an Architect, focusing on motion sensing technologies. Matthew holds a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UC San Diego and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
