Michael Brooks

Michael Brooks is a software engineer and human-centered designer currently working at Apple, where they build machine learning tools for developers and data scientists. Michael's dissertation research focused on optimizing data analysis and visualization tools for social scientists, and they have published work in the fields of computer-supported cooperative work, visual analytics, and human-computer interaction. Previously, Michael held research and internship positions at prestigious organizations including Microsoft, Google, and the University of Washington, where they contributed to various projects involving machine learning and biometric authentication technologies. Michael earned a PhD in Human Centered Design and Engineering from the University of Washington, following a B.A. in Computer Science and Mathematics from Oberlin College.
