Ramiar Alaei is a Power System Design and Integration Engineer in the Wireless Power Division at Apple since July 2025. Prior to this role, Ramiar served as a Staff Product Engineer at Navitas Semiconductor, where a test setup was implemented to measure dynamic Rdson of GaN devices under switching conditions. Ramiar also worked as a Lecturer at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology from January 2017 to December 2023, focusing on designing a microprocessor relay protection scheme and developing web-based simulation software for overcurrent microprocessor relays. Earlier experience includes serving as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Alberta, where Ramiar designed cost-effective soft-switched modular multilevel converters and bidirectional power converters for HVDC applications. Ramiar earned a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alberta and holds both a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology - Tehran Polytechnic.
