Rui Qian is a highly skilled research scientist with extensive experience in artificial intelligence and machine learning. Currently serving as a Staff Research Scientist at Apple since September 2024, Rui is focused on multi-modal large language models with unified understanding and generation. Prior to this, Rui contributed to state-of-the-art generation models at Google as a Research Scientist from May 2023 to September 2024 and worked as a Research Intern at Google and ByteDance's US AI Lab. Rui also gained valuable research experience during an internship at Microsoft. Rui holds dual PhDs in Computer Science from Cornell Tech and Cornell University, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Peking University.
