Shivkumar Sabesan

Shivkumar (Shiv) Sabesan currently serves as the Applied Sensing & Health Lead at Apple since July 2025. Prior to this role, Shiv held significant positions such as Chief Technology Officer at Cytrellis Biosystems, Inc. and Alto Neuroscience, and Vice President at Movella, focusing on health and human performance solutions. With a strong background in research and development, Shiv has served as Global Head of R&D at Philips and Technical Lead at Google within Verily Life Sciences. Academic contributions include an Adjunct Assistant Professorship in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Rice University. Shiv co-founded Advanced Brain Systems LLC, specializing in real-time physiological signal detection, and has an extensive research background at the Barrow Neurological Institute. Shiv holds both a Master of Science and a Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University.
