Sungki Lee is a Senior Engineering Manager and Principal Hardware Engineer at Apple, where they lead a team in developing advanced display backplane technologies for Apple Watches and iPhones. Prior to their role at Apple, they held positions as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where they synthesized semiconducting materials and filed a U.S. patent in 2013. Sungki also gained experience as a Research Assistant at Pohang University of Science and Technology and a Junior Specialist at UC Berkeley. They earned a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
