Tom Sengelaub

Tom Sengelaub is an experienced engineering professional specializing in computer vision and machine learning. Currently serving as a Senior Engineering Manager at Apple since June 2017, Tom leads teams focused on non-rigid 3D reconstruction, sensor calibration, system architecture, large-scale data collection, and biometrics. Previously, Tom held the position of Machine Learning Engineering Manager, where responsibilities included productizing and developing innovative computer vision algorithms. Prior experience includes serving as Virtual Reality Lead and Engineering Manager at SMI SensoMotoric Instruments GmbH from October 2008 to June 2017, where Tom was involved in the design and development of eye-tracking products and OEM customizations. Tom's educational background includes studies in Computer Science at Technische Universität Berlin and an Engineer's Degree in Medical Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences Bautzen.
