Yang Gao

Yang Gao is a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Apple since January 2025, specializing in audio generation and Siri Intelligence. Prior to this role, Yang worked as a Research Scientist at Tomato.ai from May 2023 to January 2025, focusing on AIGC for audio and developing real-time streaming models for noise cancellation, speech synthesis, and accent conversion. Previously, Yang contributed as an Applied Scientist at Amazon Web Services (AWS) from February 2022 to May 2023, working on spoofing detection and speaker verification, and at Amazon from October 2021 to February 2022, where Yang was part of the Alexa Entertainment Spoken Language Understanding team. Yang also has experience as a Research Scientist Intern at The AI Foundation in early 2021, collaborating on research for the Ph.D. project. Yang holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, earned in January 2021, and a Master's degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, completed in January 2015.
