Bing Yen is a highly experienced professional specializing in advanced manufacturing and intellectual property management. Currently serving as Senior Director at Applied Cells since October 2020, Bing Yen manages the foundry operation for MEMS acoustic chips and oversees patent processes related to cell sorting devices. Prior to this role, Bing Yen held various engineering and managerial positions, including Director of Patent Prosecution at Avalanche Technology Inc., where oversight of patent processes for SSD storage systems and MRAM technology was a key responsibility. With a robust background in engineering, including significant roles at WD, SanDisk, Hoya Corporation, Seagate Technology, Hitachi GST, and IBM Almaden Research Center, Bing Yen has contributed to advancements in magnetic head devices, 3D memory processing, and patterned media technology. Educational achievements include a PhD, MS, and BS in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science/Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
