Nathaniel Ortega is a skilled research professional with experience in various scientific roles. Currently serving as a Research Associate II at Applied Cells since February 2022, Nathaniel focuses on cell separation and isolation technology, contributing to research, quality control, manufacturing, and customer collaboration. Previously, Nathaniel worked as a Lab Technician at Cepheid, where responsibilities included operating biotechnical instruments for disease-testing kit production. Additionally, experience as a Field Technician involved conducting bat and avian research, and roles at UC Santa Barbara encompassed researching arthropod communities and supporting campus sustainability efforts. At Los Alamos National Laboratory, Nathaniel was engaged in multiple research projects, including malaria incidence analysis, cancer biology, and COVID-19 spread modeling. Nathaniel holds a Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from UC Santa Barbara.
