Robert Cates is an experienced IT specialist with a strong background in document management systems and technical support. Since October 2002, Robert has been managing the ViewStar 5.2 document management system for FEMA at Applied Computing Technologies, Inc., while also supporting Microsoft IIS 5. Prior to this role, from January 1997 to September 2002, Robert provided on-site ViewStar system administration at various federal and state agencies while at SER Solutions, Inc., where responsibilities included network and server installations, helpdesk support, and technical training. Earlier career experience includes serving as a Customer Support/Training Specialist at Micro Research from 1989 to 1992. Robert holds an Associate’s Degree in Information Systems Technology and a Career Studies Certificate in Networking from Laurel Ridge Community College.
