John Milfull started their education in 1994 at Swinburne University of Technology, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a field of study in Mechanical. After completing their bachelor's degree, they pursued further education at the University of Michigan from 2007 to 2011. During this time, they earned a Master of Global Automotive and Manufacturing Engineering degree with a specialization in Engineering. In 2011, they also received a Design For Six Sigma Black Belt Certification from the University of Michigan.
