CTO at Applied EV

Marc Alexander has an extensive work experience spanning over several companies and industries. Marc is currently the CTO at Applied EV, where they are leading the software, electronics, and cloud development for the company's Digital Backbone core product suite. Prior to this, Marc has been a Product & Technology advisor and Board advisor at Nura since 2016.

In 2020, Marc co-founded Raine, a company that specializes in personal electric transport. Marc played a pivotal role in developing their first product, a connected personal transport scooter with safety and performance features.

Before Raine, Marc was involved with LIFX from 2012 to 2021. Marc started as a Co-Founder and gradually took on various roles including Technology, Product & Business Advisor, Co-Founder, Chief Product & Technology Officer, Co-Founder, and ultimately CEO and Co-Founder. Under their leadership, LIFX experienced exponential growth, selling two million products and reaching one million monthly active users.

Prior to LIFX, Marc co-founded Freetronics in 2010 and served as a Director. Marc also held the role of VP Engineering at Techlynx from 2010 to 2012, overseeing the design and engineering of Apple accessory products.

Earlier in their career, Marc founded Interceptor Electronics in 2007, where they were responsible for designing and developing plug-in road and racing motorcycle engine controllers. Marc was also involved in Advanced Engine Management from 1996 to 2007, where they co-founded the company and served as the VP Engineering/CTO and Director. Marc played a key role in designing and developing engine management systems and digital motorcycle ignition systems.

Their early career includes roles as a Product Development Engineer at GDT Softworks / ACP in 1997 and General Magic / GDT Softworks in 1994. In these positions, Marc was involved in product design and development projects for various handheld computers and peripherals.

Throughout their career, Marc has showcased expertise in company management, business strategy, team building, product design and development, software development, user experience, and digital marketing. Marc has worked on consumer electronics, IoT, home automation, and wireless technologies.

Marc Alexander attended Box Hill Institute in 1985, where they studied Applied Science. In 1986, they continued their education at Box Hill Institute and obtained a Certificate of Technology in Electronics.
