Ilker Capoglu

Ilker Capoglu has over 20 years of experience in the fields of engineering, sensor performance modeling, electromagnetics research and development, software development, and teaching. In 2002, they began their career as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Georgia Institute of Technology, conducting research on theoretical and computational electromagnetics and wireless communication systems. Ilker then served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for three courses. In 2007, Ilker became a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Northwestern University, where they conducted research on the application of theoretical/computational electromagnetics to nano-optics and bio-optics problems. In 2012, Ilker joined Delcross Technologies, LLC as a Research Scientist and Software Developer, researching advanced high-frequency asymptotic electromagnetic simulation and implementing the results of their research into software products. Ilker then became an Electromagnetics R&D Manager at Halliburton in 2014, overseeing the planning and execution of projects in the Electromagnetic Sensor Physics team. Ilker also acted as a Scientific Advisor and EM Local Manager. In 2019, Ilker joined Cruise as a Sensor Performance Modeling Engineer, where they conducted electromagnetic modeling and simulation of automotive radar systems. Ilker is currently employed as an Engineering at Applied Intuition.

Ilker Capoglu has a diverse educational background. Ilker began their educational journey in 1992, when they graduated from Ankara Atatürk Anadolu Lisesi with a High School Diploma. Ilker then attended Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi / Middle East Technical University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 2002. Afterwards, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, which they completed in 2007.
