Senior R&D Process Engineer (E3)

Edy Cardona, Ph.D., possesses extensive experience in research and development within the fields of materials science and engineering. Contributions include increasing the climbing capabilities of autonomous hexapedal robots at the University of California, Berkeley, and synthesizing novel semiconductor nanowires for optoelectronic applications. As a project manager for the NSF CAMP program, Edy mentored undergraduate students in laboratory settings and has held several research positions at prestigious institutions including Harvard University and Berkeley Lab. Currently serving as a member of the board of directors and chair of the external affairs committee for Acknowledge Alliance, Edy recently transitioned to a role as Senior R&D Process Engineer at Applied Materials, focusing on developing oxidation products for the semiconductor industry. Academically, Edy earned a Bachelor of Arts in Physics and a Doctor of Philosophy in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, alongside post-baccalaureate studies in Computer Science at the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
