Jim Wilkinson

Jim Wilkinson has extensive work experience in various engineering roles.

Jim is currently serving as the Vice President of Platform Engineering at Applied Materials since December 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Applied Materials, specifically Varian Semi Equipment, as the Managing Director of Platform Engineering from December 2001 to April 2023.

In their previous positions, they were the Associate Director of Development Engineering at Varian Semiconductor from September 2008 to July 2011. Jim also worked as an Electrical Design Engineer at Trakus from July 2000 to December 2001.

Before that, they were a Principal Electrical Engineer at Eaton Corporation from September 1996 to June 2000. Earlier in their career, they served as the Hardware Design Supervisor at BruceTechnologies International from October 1988 to October 1996, and as an Electrical Engineer at Hamilton Sundstrand from July 1983 to September 1988.

Jim Wilkinson attended the University of Massachusetts Lowell from 1979 to 1983. Jim then pursued a Master of Science degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute starting in 1986.
