Jonathan Kolbeck, Ph.D., is a skilled physicist and scientist currently serving as a Lead Project Engineer in Electric Propulsion at Aerojet Rocketdyne. With a strong background in mechanical and aerospace engineering, they co-founded the CubeSat Laboratory at The George Washington University, guiding a team to design and build GW’s first CubeSat. Jonathan’s research experience includes work at NASA Ames Research Center on the BioSentinel CubeSat and the ISS project GeoCam, as well as a visiting researcher role at Stanford University’s Plasma Propulsion Laboratory. They hold a Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from The George Washington University and have contributed to several significant projects in the field, including a patented dissertation on air-breathing electric propulsion.
