Maarten Berkens is currently a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff at Applied Materials, where they focus on software development related to physical layout as part of the Design Technology group. Previously, they served as CEO and CTO at NP Komplete Technologies from 2009 to 2020, following roles as CTO at Takumi Technology and CTO at Sagantec from 1995 to 2009. Early in their career, they were a Team Leader for NV memory generator design at Philips Research from 1992 to 1995. Berkens earned a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology between 1978 and 1984.
