Rick Sprenkle is an experienced professional with a strong background in software engineering and management. Currently serving as a Director at Applied Materials since November 2011, Rick is responsible for AI and machine learning product development within the Varian Semiconductor Equipment Business Unit. Additionally, Rick has held the position of Senior Engineering Manager and Adjunct Professor at Endicott College since August 2004, teaching courses in Managing Information Systems and Software Engineering. Prior experience includes managing software engineering teams at Varian Semiconductor from 1997 to November 2011, and founding Rainman Software, a scientific software startup from June 1994 to September 1997. Rick's early career includes service as a Naval Flight Officer in the US Navy from 1986 to 1995. Rick holds an MBA in Economics from Endicott College, a Master of Engineering in Control Systems & Software, and a Bachelor of Arts in Physics from Cornell University.
