Ruiping Wang has extensive experience in the semiconductor and solar technology sectors, currently serving as Managing Director of the Advanced Packaging Business Unit at Applied Materials since July 1995. Wang's leadership roles at Applied Materials also include Sr. Director of the Display SBU and Managing Director of both the Solar Business Group and the Solar Technology Centre in China, where a significant development in solar technology was achieved through the establishment of multiple research and demonstration labs. Prior to this, Wang developed a process team to support semiconductor applications for key customers in China. Earlier experience includes a role as a Fellow Chemist Researcher at Catalytica Inc, specializing in high-temperature catalyst support materials. Wang holds a Ph.D. in Solid State Physics from Oregon State University and has conducted postdoctoral research in Solid State Chemistry.
