Samarth Bhargava

Samarth Bhargava is a Senior Director of Photonics Design at Applied Materials, where the focus is on advancing nano-photonics for display, imaging, sensing, and computing applications. Previous experience includes roles as Principal Diffractive Optics Engineer at Magic Leap, contributing to the design of the Magic Leap 2 display and developing in-house computational tools for optical modeling, and responsibilities at the University of California, Berkeley, as a Doctoral Researcher, where advancements were made in the design of micro- and nano-optical components. Earlier positions include UX & Product Design leadership at iCare Software and internships in optics research and software engineering at MIT Lincoln Laboratory and Raytheon, respectively. Samarth Bhargava holds a PhD and an MS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from the University of California, Berkeley, and a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
