Vance Morrison is an experienced physicist currently serving as a manager at Applied Materials since May 2024. Prior to this role, Vance held the position of team lead for the Light Engine Team at Google from July 2020 to March 2024, where responsibilities included leading a group of optical and mechanical engineers in the development of light engines and projection modules for the augmented reality program. Vance's earlier experience includes various roles at North from December 2014 to June 2020, including team lead for the Focals Projector and project lead for advanced R&D display systems and optical design. Vance's academic background includes a PhD in Physics with a focus on ultrafast electron diffraction from McGill University, as well as a Master's degree in Physics specializing in ultrafast spectroscopy and instrument design, and a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Mount Allison University.
