Wonjae Lee

Director, Algorithm Development

Wonjae Lee has extensive experience in process engineering and algorithm development, with a focus on cryogenic plasma etch processes for 3D NAND memory. At Lam Research, Wonjae served as a Process Engineer, Staff Process Engineer, and Senior Process Engineer, leading initiatives to improve plasma dielectric etch processes and enhancing experimental data acquisition through software development. Currently serving as Director of Algorithm Development at Applied Materials, Wonjae previously held roles at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory as a Graduate Student Researcher, and at Applied Materials as an Algorithm Developer. Academic credentials include a PhD in Engineering Physics from the University of California, San Diego, and Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Energy System Engineering and Nuclear Engineering, respectively, from Seoul National University. Additionally, Wonjae contributed as a Teaching Assistant at the University of California, San Diego, and as a Research Assistant in both universities, focusing on plasma-material interactions and stability analysis.
