Eugene Lavely

Eugene Lavely is a seasoned scientist with extensive experience in the fields of geophysics and applied physical sciences. Currently serving as a Corporate Scientist at Applied Physical Sciences Corp since 2021, Lavely previously held the position of Chief Scientist II at BAE Systems from 2004 to 2020, where leadership was provided for a team that achieved significant advancements in x-ray transmission tomography and scanning electron microscopy. Earlier roles include Senior Scientist at ALPHATECH, focusing on submarine detection and tracking, and Senior Geophysicist at Geometrics, where Lavely established a research group that contributed to seismic exploration software. Academic positions include research roles at the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences, the University of Colorado, and the National Center for Atmospheric Research, complemented by a Ph.D. in Geophysics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and additional degrees from Brown University and Columbia University.
