Kyle Piper

Kyle Piper has a diverse work experience in the field of cybersecurity and information security. Kyle is currently working as a Principal Security Engineer at AppOmni since November 2021.

Prior to this, Kyle held several roles at Fifth Third Bank from December 2019 to November 2021, including Vice President and Director of Cybersecurity Engineering - Cyber Defense and Principal Information Security Engineer - Detect and Response.

Before joining Fifth Third Bank, Kyle worked at Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) as an Information Security Engineer from February 2019 to December 2019. In this role, they were responsible for designing and implementing Information Security products and services, acting as a team lead for the security operations group, and performing detection and response activities. Kyle played a key role in the cloud migration and modernization initiatives of ARC.

Kyle has also worked at Integral Defense, LLC as an Architect, Security Platforms and Operations from January 2017 to February 2019. Additionally, they served as an Architect, Security Platforms and Operations at Valvoline from October 2016 to February 2019, where they were responsible for cybersecurity operations and worked on the integration and maintenance of the identity and access management platform.

Prior to these roles, Kyle worked at Ashland Inc as a Lead Network Security Engineer from June 2015 to October 2016. Here, they were accountable for planning and executing the network security strategy for Ashland and its subsidiary Valvoline, including preparations for Valvoline's IPO. Kyle successfully implemented various automation and re-architecture projects related to network security.

Kyle's earlier experience includes working as a Field Service Engineer at Beckman Coulter from March 2011 to January 2014 and as a Biomed Tech at Owensboro Medical Health System from September 2008 to March 2011. In these roles, they gained experience in medical equipment maintenance and repair.

Kyle Piper has a diverse education history in the field of technology. Kyle first attended Madisonville Community College from 2006 to 2008, where they received an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Engineering Technology with a specialization in Medical Equipment and Instrumentation.

Afterward, Kyle pursued their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Engineering at the University of Kentucky, where they studied from 2012 to 2016.

Continuing their education, Kyle enrolled in Western Governors University from 2016 to 2018, completing their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in IT - Security.

In addition to their academic achievements, Kyle also holds several certifications that demonstrate their expertise in the field. Kyle obtained the A+ Certification from CompTIA in March 2005 and the CCENT and CCNA certifications from Cisco in August 2015. Kyle also received the Project+ certification from CompTIA in July 2016 and the Security+ certification in April 2016.

Furthermore, Kyle obtained the GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) certification from Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) in November 2017 and the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certification from Amazon Web Services in January 2016. Most recently, they obtained the GIAC Strategic Planning, Policy, and Leadership (GSTRT) certification from GIAC Certifications in August 2021.
