David Young has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. David started their career at Cognito in 1998, where they worked as a Software Engineer before progressing to Senior Software Engineer, Network Software Team Leader, and eventually Team Leader. In 2004, they transitioned to the role of Senior Software Engineer and later became a Java Architect in 2011.
In 2014, David joined Appsbroker Ltd as a Principal Java Engineer, where they contributed to the development of the Appsflow product. David then advanced to the position of Principal Architect, responsible for ensuring consistent tech, architecture, standards, and quality across the department. Additionally, they took on the role of development manager for the Appsflow product.
David's expertise expanded further as they became the Head of Application Modernisation and High Performance Computing (HPC) in 2020. In this role, they helped clients modernize their application development and deployment processes with a focus on cloud-native practices, Anthos, and Kubernetes. David also assisted companies in embracing burst compute in the cloud. As a result of their contributions, David was promoted to the Head of Architecture in 2016 and most recently to the role of CCTO (Customer CTO) in April 2022.
David Young completed their education at the University of Sussex from 1995 to 1998, where they obtained a 2:1 Honors Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained several certifications from Google, including the Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect certification in September 2017. David also acquired various qualifications in Google technologies such as Google App Engine, Google BigQuery, Google Cloud SQL, Google Cloud Storage, and Google Compute Engine, all obtained in February 2014.
