Wayne Dang

Wayne Dang is the current Manager of Finance & Accounting at Apptopia. Prior to their current position, Dang was the Director of Accounting at LovePop Cards from December 2015 to February 2018. Wayne was responsible for all finance, HR administration, office, and inventory management during the seed and series A round. Wayne presided over the financial growth of estimated $27M in eCommerce, retail, wholesale, and wedding lifetime revenue of pop-up greeting cards over a span of 2 years.

Dang built and managed all of Lovepop's accounting and finance, ranging from building financials, budgeting, business modeling, cash management, insurance, stock compensation, and sales taxes/business registrations. Wayne developed accounting processes catering to fast growth while aligning to GAAP standards. Wayne managed 1 FTE and 2 contractors for daily accounting operations. Dang also built the company scorecard to measure business success on a weekly basis and support financial forecasting with variance analysis of KPIs on all sales channels. Additionally, they managed big data for accurate financial reporting, profit margin analysis, and strategic decision making.

Dang created inventory management processes to support seasonality, inventory growth, and procurement of all items between multiple warehouses. Their general understanding of demand resulted in the growth of daily Lovepop card orders from an average of 2000 a day to 8000 a day within a year span.

Dang also developed HR administration processes and introduced automated self-service payroll while reducing PEO fees from 11% to 4%. Wayne introduced first health benefits to Lovepop to help bring in top talent.

Wayne Dang studied at Suffolk University where they received a Bachelor of Science and Business Administration in International Business. Wayne also has a High School Diploma from John D. O'Bryant School of Mathematics and Science.

Wayne Dang reports to Jonathan Kay, Co-Founder & CEO. They work with Yurii Hryhorenko - Data Engineer, Adam Blacker - Director of Content & Communications, and Arun Gupta - SVP, Sales.
